The Love Sonnets of a Hoodlum - Wallace Irwin

This was a random selection on Project Gutenberg and was very short, and very entertaining, so it felt like cheating. There were parts that literally had me laughing out loud, which takes a lot these days. It's a kind of parody of sonnets that is full of turn-of-the-20th-century slang, which is very entertaining in and of itself. The sonnets tell the story of Willie, a man who is in unrequited love with Mame. It's from 1901, and since it's on Project Gutenberg I am using it for 3 challenges. I am glad I stumbled on this! Highly recommended.

The link to this book is here: http://www.gutenberg.org/files/4756/4756-h/4756-h.htm but it can also be found on Google books, etc.
